Best way to influence people: Encourage the wanted behavior

Another beautiful example of how to encourage people instead of scaring them into a "good" behavior:
"London motorists are being issued with more parking tickets, but they are happy to receive them. Landscape architect Will Sandy, 25, has created tickets that praise people´s parking skills instead of fining them. “I got a few tickets myself and I was furious”. Enraged by the bullish methods of bureaucracy, Sandy wants to restore faith in human nature by letting people know they “parked beautifully and returned within their allocated time” and that they “should now smile”."
How can you use this thinking in your advertising and marketing strategies?
